- Reverse Exhaust Relief: Exhaust gases are diverted away from the propeller while in reverse, allowing the propeller to run in clean water. Delivering instant reverse response and much finer control.
- Fresh Water Flushing: The Fresh Water Flush point flushes debris and saltwater out of the engine, extending the life of the outboard.
- Engine Protection and Security: Alert systems monitor critical engine functions including engine temperature and oil pressure, to prevent engine damage.
- Low Vibration Mounting System: Honda's rubber mounts provide smoother operation at all speeds, with reduced vibration and noise.
- High Output Charging: The large 12 Amp on the electric start model (or 6 Amps on manual start) alternator delivers more power to maintain the battery charge and keep electronics going even at trolling speeds.

The BF10 has a convenient longer tiller handle for increased control and reduced steering effort. Made of a new lightweight composite for increased durability and weight reduction. The convenient Forward Mount Shift Lever allows fingertip shifting. Twist Grip Throttle and Tensioner allows for superior throttle friction control, minimising driver fatigue.
